‘Incite to Care’ is a video installation designed to be experienced with sound but without any added context until the experience has ended. The work has been created in collaboration with Dr. Deborah Reyes’ at Kings’ College London for NeuroArt as a suggestive body of work at its’ very beginning. Dr. Reyes’ work on delving into the workings of psilocin [an active form of psilocybin] on synaptic parameters forms the basis on which this body of work has began its journey. There is a whole world of art that can be explored within Reyes’ body of work and for this specific exhibition I have chosen to interfere the process of caring for with cells in a lab versus caring for the human the cells make up in a doctor-patient environment.
We are asking those who experience the installation to also take part in the research survey so that we can better understand how models of care are interpreted within the scientific community and within a doctor-patient environment. Your responses will help us expand upon this work and ultimately bring ideas of care closer together within the aforementioned communities.
